It costs $0.70 to check your balance, $3.50 to speak to a teller, $2.00 for paper statement. Why is Walmart doing this? They're going after the "unbanked" market, the same group of people who get screwed with payday loans, income tax advance refund loans, prepaid debit card fees, auto-title loans and other awful "services."

Wal-Mart recently terminated a Wal-Mart systems technician for intercepting text messages and recording telephone conversations without authorization. The calls and text messages being recorded were between Wal-Mart's PR and a New York Times reporter.

I have been banned since '04. The story behind it is as ironic as it is funny however. I had been working for Wal-Mart off and on for several years. It was a good way to bring in some little needed income while I was attending college.

Wal-Mart said Friday it will carry the Plan B emergency contraceptive pill for over-the-counter sale possibly by the end of the year. In a statement e-mailed to CNNMoney.com, Wal-Mart spokesman Kevin Gardner said the company will sell Plan B to women 18 and over once the new packaging has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
